Van with Rs 1 crore seized; cops suspect cash was for votes

Greater Noida: A cash van was seized from Behlolpur Phase 3 area on Thursday afternoon and Noida Police has claimed that the vehicle was ferrying Rs 1.37 crore without proper documents. Police suspect that the cash was being ferried in violation to the RBI guidelines and it was meant for political parties ahead of the elections. The police stopped the blue and white van, with registration number DL 1L T 1910, at a checkpost.“We seized a cash van with over Rs 1 crore for which there was no solid document produced by the driver. We have the necessary documents,” said a representative.In another incident in Noida, a cash van of CMS was found violating RBI guidelines regarding security while ferrying money.
