When the temperature is at 42 degrees Celsius with high levels of humidity at 28%, several sectors in Noida, including sectors 71, 52, 53, 51, 128, 31, 29, 28, etc., have reported outages for hours as well as intermittent power cuts, besides voltage fluctuations.
While technical snag in the 400kv substation was cited as the reason for Sector 71 area, overheating of the transformer was reported from others.
“People remained troubled due to power cut and low voltage in Sai Apartment Society sector 71 last night.
The same problem happened from 1 pm to 3.30 pm on Wednesday after two-three power cuts of short duration in the morning.
There was no information from the power department or update from the SDO,” said Manoj Kumar, resident of sector 71.
Anil Kumar Singh RWA president sector 53 also complained of a similar problem in his sector.
“In sector 53 electricity has fluctuated since Tuesday night and increased by Wednesday morning.
Many people complained of household appliances getting damaged.
