The Kalkaji Mandir - Botanical Garden corridor of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will not only reduce travel time between Noida and south Delhi but will also come with various new features that will make travelling more comfortable.

The trials and testing on the 12.64-kilometre long section, built under the Phase-III project, have been successfully completed and it is ready for the Commissioner for Metro Rail Safety`s (CMRS) mandatory inspection.

This new metro route will also help commuters travelling to south Delhi areas from Noida to save time.

At present commuters have to change trains at the Mandi House (from Blue Line to Violet Line).

However, with this new section, they will be able to travel directly to the Kalkaji Mandir.

The Botanical Garden has been developed as the metro`s first-ever interchange station outside the boundaries of Delhi.

There are further plans to connect the new line with coonect Kalkaji Mandir with Janakpuri West and will reduce the travel time between Gugugram and Noida by 50 minutes.
