152 driving licences suspended

NOIDA: The transport department on Wednesday suspended 152 driving licences in the city for a period of three months.B N Singh, district magistrate, appealed to the commuters to follow traffic rules to ensure smooth traffic in the city. Singh stated that the administration and transport department conducted a joint operation against traffic violators and seized their licences. The cameras take snapshots of the vehicle violating the traffic rule and a challan is issued to the vehicle owner's address by post. "The licences of repeat offenders were seized. We will take stringent action if they are found violating traffic rules again in future," he said.Most of the violators were fined for not wearing seat belt, helmet, red light jumping among others.Noida traffic police officials have also installed traffic enforcement cameras at Sector 57, Sector 31/25 crossing road..
