CM to inaugurate Pataliputra University building on July 28

PATNA: Chief minister (CM) Nitish Kumar will open the new building of Pataliputra University through remote control at Bapu Sabhagar convention hall at 11.30am on July 28. He will also inaugurate the logo and the website of the varsity and release a colourful souvenir as well.State education minister Krishna Nandan Prasad Verma will be the guest of honour. “Our aim is to check mass exodus of students from the state for better education and job opportunities. We have decided to give part-time employment to talented and poor students as data entry operators at the university,” he said.Faculty members and NSS volunteers of the university will also try to maintain an ecological balance in the city by planting saplings along the Ganga.“Most of the Magadh University staff, who opted for their transfer after bifurcation, has joined the new university office,” Jaiswal said. The university will also hold a cultural programme and ‘kavi sammelan’ as part of the inaugural function in the evening.According to vice-chancellor (VC) Gulab Chand Ram Jaiswal, the Pataliputra University building was earlier the branch office of Magadh University.“Several reputed academics from across the country as well as principals, teachers and students of all the 25 constituent colleges under Pataliputra University are likely to attend the inaugural function,” Jaiswal said on Wednesday and added focus would always be on quality education and research work in different colleges and postgraduate departments.The VC told this reporter every month the university would hold an ‘adalat’ for teachers and students to mete out justice to them..
