PATNA: Patna divisional commissioner Anand Kishor on Tuesday issued an order prohibiting vehicular movement inside Gandhi Maidan from Wednesday onwards in view of the ongoing maintenance work there.A private agency has been given the responsibility of stopping vehicles from entering the historic Maidan till the completion of maintenance work. “Even vehicles of officials will not be allowed to enter the Maidan. A parking area will be earmarked for those participating in fairs at the Maidan. The vehicles engaged by them will be allowed to be parked in the designated parking area only,” Kishor said.PMC deputy municipal commissioner Vishal Anand has been asked to ensure availability of dustbins inside the Miadan. “If the private agency hired for ensuring cleanliness inside the Maidan fails to perform well, 25% amount will be deducted from their monthly bills,” Kishor said, adding home guards will be deployed between gate number 5 and 6 at the Maidan to check encroachments..
