It happened after the police found the missing boy`s body near railway tracks, villagers of Damodarpur went on the rampage at a nearby area, suspecting he had been strangled by those living in a red-light area.
They then dragged out a woman from one of the buildings, ripped off her clothes and paraded her naked while kicking and slapping her.
Sixteen people including an RJD activist have been arrested while eight policemen have been suspended, said a report.
The woman is undergoing a treatment in a local hospital.
