Railways cancels 5 pairs of trains till September 25

PATNA: The railways has cancelled at least five pairs of mail and express trains and diverted the routes of eight express trains from September 12 to 25 due to ongoing non-interlocking (NI) work at Panki station under the Allahabad division of the North Central Railway (NCR).According to East Central Railway’s (ECR) chief public relations officer (CPRO) Rajesh Kumar, the railways has cancelled the Howrah Sri Ganganagar Udyan Abha Toofan Express (13007/13008), Malda-Bhiwani Farakka Express (13483/13484, 13413/13414), Alipurduar-Delhi Mahananda Express (15483/15484) and Hatia-Anand Vihar Swarna Jayanti Express (12873/12874).The route of several trains, including the Patna-Kota Express (13237/13239), has been diverted. Similarly, the railways has diverted the routes of the Kota-Patna Express (13238/13240) and Surat-Muzaffarpur Express (19053/19054) via Kanpur-Tundla-Agra Cantonment and Jhansi till September 24.“While the tri-weekly Puri-New Delhi Express (12815) and bi-weekly Howrah-Anand Vihar Express (12323) will run with controlled speed, the Howrah-Jodhpur Express (12308) will run 32 minutes behind its schedule between Tundla and Panki stations,” the CPRO said.Additional coach: Keeping in mind the passenger occupancy rate, the railways has decided to attach one additional 2AC coach to the Singrauli-Patna Link Express (23347/23348) on a trial basis for a period of six months from Saturday..
