Faculty crunch cripples Pataliputra University

PATNA: Even after six months of its creation, Pataliputra University (PPU) has not been able to streamline its functioning yet. Several employees, who were part of MU before and were shifted to PPU later, have not yet joined the new university. Altogether 25 constituent colleges, located in Patna and Nalanda districts, were brought under the jurisdiction of the new university after its bifurcation from Magadh University (MU) in March this year.According to sources, the biggest problem plaguing PPU is faculty crunch in most of its premier colleges. “We can function well only with the cooperation of the Raj Bhavan, the state government, teachers and students,” he said.
