Bihar: SHO martyred, dacoit killed in encounter

PATNA: Khagaria’s Pasraha police station SHO Ashish Kumar Singh was martyred while another constable Durgesh Prasad Yadav was shot at in an encounter with a heavily armed gang of dacoits, in Ganga diara (riverine belt) of Khagaria district at around 1 am on Saturday. However, the SHO was declared brought dead at the hospital. They were travelling in a tractor due to the area’s topography,” sources said.Police sources said the team, while chasing dacoits, had went far ahead and entered the jurisdiction of Parbatta police station where Singh got hit.
