PATNA: A 25-year-old boy died due to suspected dengue at a private hospital at Anisabad in the city on Wednesday. We took him to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) after his condition deteriorated. “He had been suffering from fever for a week. The hospital, however, has cited “sudden cardiopulmonary arrest” as the reason behind the death of the boy, who has been identified as Md Aftab Alam, a resident of Khalilpura locality in Phulwarisharif.Alam’s father Md Ishak said the blood sample of his son was tested positive for dengue at another private hospital in the city on October 21. However, he could not be admitted there due to lack of platelets,” Ishak alleged.However, PMCH medical superintendent Dr Rajiv Ranjan Prasad said there was no scarcity of platelets at the hospital.Patna civil surgeon Dr Pramod Jha said a team of medical experts visited the home of Alam and collected his blood test report on Thursday..
