January target for installation of LED streetlights in Patna

PATNA: If everything goes according to plan, work on installing 70,000 LED streetlights in city would be completed by January next year.The central government-owned Energy Efficiency and Services Limited (EESL) is working on a project to install seven lakh LED streetlights in various cities of the state. However, the target was revised to seven lakh. LED lights not only consume less power in comparison to traditional sodium vapour streetlights, but also ensure better visibility on roads,” Anand added.Sources said the EESL would bear the entire cost of Rs 478 crore in installing the LED streetlights.
