PATNA: RJD’s suspended MLA Raj Ballabh Yadav and five others were on Saturday convicted on the charges of luring and raping a minor girl at the legislator’s residence in Bihar’s Nawada district in February 2016.The court of special judge (MPs/MLAs cases) Parashuram Yadav held Raj Ballabh and five others guilty of luring the 15-year-old girl to the MLA’s residence at English Pathra village in Nawada district and raping the minor after keeping her in confinement for a whole night.The quantum of punishment will be pronounced on December 21.Raj Ballabh Yadav had surrendered before a court in Bihar’s Nalanda district on November 9, 2016, a day after Supreme Court cancelled his bail in connection with the rape case.Earlier on November 8, 2016, the Supreme Court cancelled the RJD MLA's bail granted by the Patna high court on September 30, 2016.Yadav, an MLA from Nawada assembly constituency, was suspended by the RJD after he was booked in the rape case of a minor girl at his residence on February 6, 2016.After evading arrest for a month, the RJD MLA had surrendered before a Nalanda court in March following confiscation of some of his properties at various places by the police to compel him to submit himself before the law..
