Patna Junction gets 100feet tall tricolour

PATNA: Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi on Tuesday unfurled the newly-installed 100-feet tall national tricolour in the sprawling circulating area of Patna Junction . “The hall, built with an expenditure of Rs 80 lakh, can accommodate 250 passengers,” the CPRO said.According to sources, railways has decided to install 100-feet high tricolour at Gaya Junction, Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, Muzaffarpur Junction, Darbhanga Junction and Dhanbad Junction as well. “The RPF personnel have been asked to look after the tricolour,” the CPRO said, adding railways has also installed adequate lights at the junction.The deputy CM also inaugurated a newly-built spacious AC waiting hall at Patna Junction. Union minister of state for rural development Ram Kripal Yadav and MLA Nitin Navin were also present at the function.Modi lauded the railways for installing the tricolour at Patna Junction to instil patriotism among passengers, especially the youth.ECR chief public relations officer (CPRO) Rajesh Kumar said the tricolour has been installed at the junction with an expenditure of Rs 12 lakh. “The tricolours will be installed in the circulating areas of these stations by the end of this month or in early February, sources said.The railways has decided to install 100-ft tall tricolours on the premises of 75 of the busiest stations across the country, including six under the jurisdiction of ECR..
