PATNA: Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) has purchased 187 battery-operated e-carts to collect garbage from narrow lanes of the city. Each cart has the capacity to collect 600kg of garbage at a time.PMC sources said the carts, which are modified form of e-rickshaws, have been mainly procured to collect garbage from Bankipore circle of the civic body where several residential colonies have narrow lanes. Chief sanitary inspectors have been assigned the task of imposing fine on the errant people.Pet owners, beware! The e-carts will also be used in other circles as per the requirement.
