DGP Handful of people to blame for liquor smuggling

PATNA: DGP Gupteshwar Pandey on Friday blamed a handful of people, including some in the government, for liquor smuggling in the state despite prohibition.“Mere 2-4% of people are responsible for liquor smuggling in the state. Action is being taken against these people,” the DGP said at the inaugural session of Bihar Police Week here. Next day, a special interactive session will be held between Patna University students and police officers to discuss ways to prevent frequent clashes on the university premises. Five of them were awarded capital punishment, 1,300 life imprisonment and 600 imprisonment for more than ten years.
