54 polling booths to be relocated in 4 districts

“We have sent a proposal to state chief electoral officer after discussing the matter with political parties and other stakeholders. “Of the 11 dilapidated polling stations in the district, some are located at Imamganj, Sherghati, Belaganj and Barachatti. Minor renovations will be made in other booths to facilitate the polling procedure.”Of the 11 polling stations to be shifted in Aurangabad, three are at Deo, two at Nabiganj and six at Rafiganj. “The administration will notify the voters about the change in polling stations after getting the consent from state chief electoral officer,” he added.District electoral officer of Jamui Gulab Lakara said steps were being taken to relocate 28 polling stations in the district. Of the 7,959 booths where polling will be held in the first phase, 1,923 are in Aurangabad, 3,108 in Gaya, 1,263 in Jamui and 1,665 in Nawada.Gaya DM Abhishek Singh said the new polling booths would be located closer to the dilapidated ones..
