Indian Railways is considering the possibility of running a high-speed bullet train from the country`s capital Delhi (New Delhi) to Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh (Uttar Pradesh).

There has been a demand to extend this proposed project till Patna, the capital of Bihar.

The Bihar Chamber of Commerce and Industries has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav for the proposed Delhi-Varanasi Bullet Train should be extended up to Patna.

The Chamber is very serious on this issue.

The Chamber has also written a letter to the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha members of Bihar requesting them to bring this matter to the notice of the Prime Minister and the Railway Minister from their respective levels.

Chamber President PK Agrawal has said that work is being done on the proposal to run bullet train from Delhi to Varanasi.

We request that it should be extended up to Patna because Bihar is the third largest state of the country in terms of population.

Also, the main means of transport for the people here is the rail.

Bihar is the birthplace of Mother Sita, Lord Mahavir and Guru Gobind Singh as well as the place of knowledge of Lord Buddha.

Because of this, followers of Sikh, Hindu, Jain and Buddhist religions keep coming here from Delhi.
