Heavy rain on break, brace for more from July 14

Heavy rainfall can range from 64.5mm to 115.5mm, while very heavy rain can range from 115.6mm to 204.4mm.Mumbai may see heavy to very heavy rain at a few places on July 14 and 15. “The expected low pressure over the Bay of Bengal may enhance the westerly flow over it, consequently increasing the rainfall intensity. Pune may witness light to moderate rain after July 13 and the other districts like Nashik , Nandurbar, Dhule , Kolhapur and Satara may experience heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places on Friday.Rain over Konkan mellowed significantly on Wednesday. The IMD’s rainfall data showed that on July 9, close to 23 locations in Maharashtra recorded over 100mm rain. On July 11, the number of stations recording such extremely heavy rain (over 200mm) dipped with only Ulhasnagar recording 200mm from Tuesday 8.30am to Wednesday 8.30am, followed by Thane, Ambernath, Pen, Bhira and Kalyan recording rain between 150 to 170mm in the 24-hour period.Close to 26 locations in the state recorded between 100mm to 130mm till Wednesday morning..
