Agitators to hit roads stop milk vehicles going to cities

By afternoon, two dairies sent 12 tankers to Mumbai and Pune under police cover. “They will be on a sit-in on roads and highways and will not let the milk vans to come from the villages. All the vehicles of the north-western parts of Ahmednagar were routed through Nashik to Mumbai. The tankers had the milk collected on Sunday evening, which we can't store for long. About 1.38 lakh litres of milk is sent to Mumbai from Nashik and another 50,000 litres is consumed in the district.Imtiaz Mulla, a farmer from Vadanage village near Kolhapur, rears 20 cows and gets 65 litres of milk every day..
