PUNE: Two minors were detained on Sunday and 15 stolen smartphones worth Rs1.44 lakh were recovered from them.Acting on a tip-off to constables Nitin Padval and Kiran Nevase, a team led by senior inspector Kalpana Jadhav detained the minors, aged 15 and 17 years. They started stealing smartphones to get money the addiction,” Deshmukh said.The detained minors conducted recce of the houses in Warje, Kothurd and Karvenagar in morning hours and night. A youth from Warje Malwadi was arrested for purchasing the stolen smartphones from the duo.Sub-inspector Ambarish Dehmukh of the Alankar police said both the minors were school dropouts and hailed from poor family background. “After finding opened or unlocked doors, the 15-year-old boy used to enter the house and flee with smartphones,” Deshmukh said.He said the duo used to sell the smartphones to the youth in Warje Malwadi just between Rs500 and Rs1,000. “They are addicted to marijuana and whitener..
