Slow progress on construction of 60k houses in PCMC limits

Currently, PCMC has the capacity to fulfil 10,000 housing units, while the remaining 50,000 tenements would be fulfilled with the help of private land owners, officials said. Pimpri Chinchwad: There has been a six-month delay in the construction of 60,000 affordable houses on public-private partnership basis under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana (PMAY) in the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) limits.The civic body had made a request for proposals last week. Families with a maximum annual income of Rs3 lakh are eligible to apply for the tenements. Officials said PCMC has waived building permission charges as well as ready reckoner rates for the project.The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) is the state-level nodal agency for implementation of the projects..
