PUNE: Anti-corruption bureau (ACB), Pune, officers on Friday arrested the divisional deputy commissioner of the social welfare department here while accepting Rs 50,000 as bribe from a director of an educational institute.The ACB team, led by deputy superintendent of police Suhas Nadgauda, caught Punaji Kavate (56) at his office in Swargate while accepting the money.An ACB officer said the director of the educational institute runs a state government-aided ashram school in the district. “We are yet to get details of the search operation,” the officer said, adding that a case has been registered against the government officer with the Swargate police.The superintendent of ACB, Pune, Sandip Diwan, has appealed to the residents to come forward and lodge complaints against government officers indulging in corrupt practices.People can contact on the ACB’s toll free number,1064, or dial up 020-26122134 and 020-26132802 to lodge the complaints with the bureau, officials said..
