Dagdusheth Ganpati leaves 4 hour early

The procession started on Sunday morning around 10.30 am with the first manacha ganpati, the Kasaba Ganpati, from Laxmi road. PUNE: In a welcome change, the Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Mandal in Pune started four hours before it's regular time to join the immersion procession speeding up the process on Sunday night. The Dagdusheth Ganpati was immersed around 5 am on Monday morning.Meanwhile, the 'manache' (revered) five Ganpati Mandala of Pune followed the traditional games and dhol-tasha pathaks in the immersion procession. The fifth manacha ganpati was immersed around 7.10 pm on Sunday.The procession is still underway in Pune. All the mandala following Dagdusheth Ganpati also followed suit giving a welcome break of prolonging the immersion procession.The grandeur of the Dagdusheth Ganpati caravan themed after the Shri Vishwavinayak temple with intricate designs caught the eye of several devotees who gathered at the Alka Chowk to take the last blessings of their favourite god as the ten-day festival came to an end..
