Only 36 in Maharashtras skills drive got jobs

MUMBAI: Just 36% of those trained under the state's Skill India campaign found employment, latest available government data shows. The mission, launched nationally in July 2015, aims to train people with skills to equip them for jobs . Two lakh of those trained got job placements or became self-employed.The figures, though, hold true for only six months after placement. Under this scheme, industry is involved in providing training for the skills it requires.By comparison, under the state's flagship Pramod Mahajan Kaushalya and Udyojakta Vikas Abhiyan (PMKUVA), the employment rate is much lower at 36%.
