2 cages on NDA campus to catch elusive leopard

PIMPRI CHINCHWAD: The leopard sighted on the National Defence Academy (NDA) campus around a fortnight ago remained elusive despite the forest department installing two cages to capture the animal.The leopard had created panic among the residents in Ahire village on the NDA campus. So, there is a possibility that it is getting adequate prey on the NDA campus. ”Mahesh Bhavsar, assistant conservator of forest, Pune division, said on Monday, “We installed two cages on the demand of NDA authorities. It was also sent to Manikdoh.” Khunte said the forest department kept another cage on Saturday and a three-and-a-half-year-old female leopard was trapped.
