Deccan Queen Exp to chug with a new look

Though the final plan regarding the Deccan Queen is yet to be readied, the train will undergo a revamp. PUNE: The country’s first superfast train, the 89-year-old Deccan Queen Express , will soon don a new look.The train, which runs between Pune and Mumbai, will undergo a complete makeover under the project “Utkrisht” of Indian Railways . The upgrade is expected to be complete by the middle of the year, when the train turns 90. However, we want to keep some aspects of the train unchanged keeping in mind its historical importance and legacy.,” a Central Railways’ official told TOI.“Just like the Pragati Express , which had been remodelled under the project, the Deccan Queen will also don a new look.
