Focus on improving road infra to avert accidents

PMC executive engineer Lalit Bode said the work to develop the road infrastructure has been taken up across the city.He said, “We have eight executive engineers in the civic body. The work is likely to finish next week.”Samaiirah said the NGO and the civic body would from next year start the task before Road Safety Week starts. PUNE: The civic body, in association with an NGO, has started improving road infrastructure across the city to ensure the users’ safety.The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has taken up the work with Safe Road Foundation as part of the 30th Road Safety Week programmes that began on February 4. Road markings and infrastructure must be repaired and improved once in every six months. The aim is to avert accidents caused by poor infrastructure.”.
