The next morning around 9.30, four armed intruders barged inside the bungalow and held Khimji and Hema hostage.They asked Khimji to hand over valuables and Rs 1 crore. During sustained questioning, he spilled the beans and admitted to his involvement in the crime. The police on Tuesday recovered Rs 40,000, as many as 50 diamonds, a fake pistol and a car used in the crime from the suspects.The cotton trader, Khimji, has a ground-plus-one bungalow in the bylane off Apte Road.
