Pune: Peon held for duping businessman

PUNE: A peon from the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) was arrested by the Kondhwa police on Tuesday night and his two accomplices were booked for allegedly duping a water tanker businessman to the tune of Rs 38 lakh on the pretext of offering him gold biscuits at a cheap rate. The incident happened at various places in Kondhwa and Undri between June 6 and August 6, 2018.The peon Chetan Sanjay Ghule (22) from Undri was produced before the Pune cantonment court for seeking custodial remand. The suspects delayed the issue of delivering the gold on some or the other pretext.
