Six beat up medical practitioner in Pune village

PUNE: A gang of six men thrashed a 38-year-old medical practitioner and his friends with leather belts, following a heated argument in a restaurant in Nighoje village near Chakan on Saturday afternoon.The medical practitioner lodged a complaint against the unidentified men. “He got into an argument with another customer, after which he had his friend left the restaurant,” the officer said.The customer later called his friends to the restaurant and chased the medical practitioner’s car and assaulted the complainant and his friend. The suspects have been booked under Sections 324 (Voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 341 (Punishment for wrongful restraint), 143 (Punishment), 147 ( Punishment for rioting) of the Indian Penal Code.An officer from the Chakan police said the complainant who is from Chakan went for lunch in a restaurant in Nighoje village on Saturday afternoon..
