Pune: Two men were booked on Monday for stealing gold and diamond jewellery, collectively worth Rs 30 lakh, from a bag kept under the seat of a private luxury bus parked on the premises of a restaurant at Punawale along the Katraj-Dehu Road bypass on February 14.The complainant, Deepak Saini (24), of Telangana is an employee of a Secunderabad-based logistics firm that transports gold, silver and diamond ornaments from one state to another. On February 13, Saini was carrying the ornaments from Secunderabad to Mumbai when the theft occurred.Soon after the jewellery theft came to light, Saini registered a complaint with the Hinjewadi police.“Saini left Secunderbad with the bag containing ornaments worth Rs 30 lakh,” an officer from the Hinjewadi police said, adding that the bus reached Punawale around 8.30am on February 14, and halted on the premises of a restaurant.“The complainant had kept the bag under the seat and de-boarded for a tea break..
