Software Technology Parks of India sets up CoE for automotive technologies in Pune

Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) on Tuesday soft-launched MOTION - an automotive Centre of Excellence (CoE) to facilitate innovation in emerging automotive technologies.

STPI plans to set up 21 such CoEs across India and, MOTION is the fifth such centre.

It also launched Open Challenge at STPI Pune Centre in association with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of Maharashtra, ARAI, SAE India, Tata Motors, Intel, MathWorks, Visteon, Kinetic, TiE Pune and College of Engineering, Pune.

 Omkar Rai, Director General, STPI said, ‘‘MOTION will host physical lab facility for development and validation of solution from design to prototype to democratize innovation.

This initiative will not only create a holistic start-up ecosystem but also attract investment, promote innovation and create avenues for employment generation in the state.”

He further added, “With the increasing presence of leading global automobile companies and auto ancillary divisions in the country, the need for innovative solutions in the automotive domain is growing in an unprecedented speed.”

Ganesh Natarajan, Chairman, 5F World & Chief Mentor of “MOTION” said, “The establishment of MOTION is the biggest leap in this region for building an ecosystem for start-ups working in ACES domain.

The CoE initiative of STPI to become a motherlode of start-ups all over the country is going to be an absolute amazing development.”
