Godowns, shops, bikes gutted in massive fire at Uruli Devachi

Pune: A massive fire gutted two plastic godowns , four shops , a house and five vehicles at Uruli Devachi, on the Mantarwadi bypass, around 2 am on Wednesday. The fire, however, could not be completely doused off because the plastic waste, which was covered in tin sheets, started melting. "He added, "We requested the owner of godowns to remove the tin sheets by using a JCB machine, but he took a long time to arrange for the same. After the tin sheds were removed, we continued spraying water to cool the premises to prevent the fire from spreading further." The godowns are located on 25 gunthas of land..
