Thousands of runners in the city assembled recently at Sendh Reservoir to participate at half marathon organised by the Sports and Youth Welfare Department. The marathon which also recorded the participation of collegians, youth and residents was flagged off by the State Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Bhaiyalal Rajwade. The marathon was adorned by the presence of international level athlete Padmashree Anju Bobby George and Arjun Award winner Paramjit Singh as the specially invited guests.Winners of 21 kilometer men's Raipur half marathon 2018 open were Suresh Kumar- 1st from Uttar Pradesh prize money Rs 3 Lakh, Govind Singh from Rajasthan- prize Rs 2 lakh and Vinayam from Ethiopia- prize Rs 1 lakh..
