CoBRA jawan killed in IED blast

RAIPUR: A security personnel of Central Reserve Police Force's CoBRA battalion was killed while another jawan was injured in a pressure bomb blast triggered by Maoists in Bastar's Sukma district on Thursday. The troops were out on patrolling between Pushwada and Tamilwada at Pollampalli around 7.45 am when a pressure IED bomb went off. Sub-inspector Rajesh Kumar Bind was killed in the explosion after sustaining grievous injuries and constable Manik Tinpare of the same unit sustained minor injuries, a CRPF spokesperson said. The personnel were out on patrolling as part of road opening party.According to the police officials, two CRPF personnel of 206 battalion of elite CoBRA unit were injured, one of whom later succumbed to injuries, in Sukma district.
