After 13 hours troops return with bodies of eight Maoists

They took about 13 hours to return as they had to carry bodies of deceased Maoists along.There were three teams of 300 jawans who were pressed into the operation from different directions but when the action took place, all of them surrounded the Maoist camp. It was their temporary hide-out to conduct meetings as they prefer to keep moving from one place to another and halt on inter-state or district borders. RAIPUR: In the latest revelation, the eight Maoists killed in fierce gun-battle with security forces on Thursday on the Dantewada-Bijapur borders included six women and two men cadres, seven of whom were carrying cash reward tuning to Rs 21 lakh. After undergoing enough of training twice at Jungle Warfare college and then in Vairengte school, they were sent to the battleground to settle their scores with Maoists.These DRG jawans are the local boys whose family members were shot or victimized by the Maoists and they feel revengeful against ultras. Knowing the terrain of place, strategies of rebels (as many of them were earlier Maoists during Salwa Judum), the DRG jawans consider it as their own force.Ponwar applauded the visionary sense of state government to have decided to train its police forces for guerrilla warfare in 2003, considering the seriousness of the situation..
