Chhattisgarh business community asks state govt to remove e-way bill

RAIPUR: City’s business community has demanded the Congress government to remove e-way bill and implement one tax slab for sectors including clothing, stationary and cycle.Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) submitted a memorandum to cabinet minister T S Singhdeo, demanding to make amendments in GST structure. Industry of cycle, tricycle, cycle rickshaws and parts are facing a lot of tax filing hurdles as they are applicable for all four tax slabs of the GST. CAIT requested complete withdrawal of mandatory e-way bill which is required on 15 commodities for trading within the state.“Increase the turnover of Rs20 lakhs to Rs40 lakhs required for GST registration and cancel the mandatory GST registration for smaller businessmen, as such small traders run their business in limited resources,” the memorandum says.Paints and colours are used by economically weaker section of society, the current 18 per cent hiked GST on these products should be slashed, it reads..
