Transgenders allotted 77 flats under housing scheme

RAIPUR: In a move to provide basic amenities to transgenders, 77 houses under the Basic Services for Urban Poor (BSUP) housing scheme will be allotted to the members of the community. The residential flats will be allotted under Basic Service for Urban Poor (BSUP) scheme and will be launched in other 166 civic bodies of the state. So far, 77 homeless transgenders have been accommodated in Raipur district of the state. He said it is the collective responsibility of society to include transgenders into the mainstream. Apart from this, transgender was also given accommodation by the government in other districts of the state.”.
