Chhatisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel announces to waive off irrigation cess worth Rs 207 crore of 15 lakh farmers

RAIPUR: In another major announcement, Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel announced to waive off irrigation cess due on farmers amounting to Rs 207 crore. He handed over the land title records and land revenue booklets (Bhu-Adhikar and Rin Pustika) to these farmers. Baghel said the outstanding amount of irrigation tax imposed till October 2018, of farers pending for nearly 15 years will be waived off. He further said the government has decided to increase the wages of Tendu leave collectors from Rs 2,500 per standard bag to Rs 4,000. The state government has fulfilled the promise of purchase of rice at the rate of Rs 2,500 per quintal from the farmers of the state..
