Nine-day lockdown in Rajnandgaon from Apr 10

RAIPUR: Amid spurt in Covid cases, Rajnandgaon collector TP Verma has announced a lockdown from April 10 evening to 19 morning.

This is the fourth district to be locked, after Raipur, Durg and Bemetara.

The district, on Wednesday, recorded 873 new cases with total 26,488 positive cases and total 208 deaths.

Milk parlours will be operational between 6-8 am and 6-7.30 pm.

Newspaper delivery will be allowed during the same time, it said.

Milk parlours will be operational between 6-8 am and 6-7.30 pm.

Newspaper delivery will be allowed during the same time, it said.

Barring essential services, everything else—markets, offices will remain shut .

The district borders will be sealed and movement of vehicles will be reduced to only for those involved in essential services including medical, hawkers, milkmen, students going for exams and government officials.

While medical shops and petrol pumps will be operational, strict protocols of social distancing needs to be maintained.
