Chhattisgarh: Tight checking at Bastar, Sukma borders to evade Andhra strain

RAIPUR: After a new strain of coronavirus was detected in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh has beefed up checking at Bastar and Sukma borders.

As per the instructions of district collector Rajat Bansal said strict vigilance is being conducted along all the boundaries of the district.

As a part of this, all passenger vehicles and cargo vehicles are being stopped and corona testing of the passengers, drivers is being done.

As per the instructions of district collector Rajat Bansal said strict vigilance is being conducted along all the boundaries of the district.

As a part of this, all passenger vehicles and cargo vehicles are being stopped and corona testing of the passengers, drivers is being done.

Besides, Jagdalpur SDM GR Markam and Bastar chief medical and health officer Dr RK Chaturvedi reached the check post at Darbha and Kodenar to review the arrangements.

The officials informed that Bastar district administration is taking all prventive steps to evade the deadly starin.

The district has made compulsory for the bus passengers from Andhra to produce negative reports in order to enter Chhattisgarh.

Travellers without reports are being tested at the border before they are allowed to enter.

People testing positive are being sent to Covid Care Center and migrants of Bastar district with a negative report are being sent to quarantine centre as a precautionary measure.

Medical staff has been deputed at the bordering areas to ensure regular testing and the security system has also been tightened here, said the officials.
