Chhattisgarh logs 8 new COVID-19 cases, no death; active tally at 32

Raipur, May 19 (PTI) Chhattisgarh on Thursday recorded eight new COVID-19 cases, taking the cumulative tally to 11,52,363, while no fresh death due to the infection was reported in the state, an official said.

The death toll remained unchanged at 14,034, the official said.

The eight cases, found at a positivity rate of 0.21 per cent (infections detected per 100 tests), were from Raipur (4) and Durg (2), among other districts, he said.

No new coronavirus cases were reported in 24 districts, the official said, adding 17 of them have zero active cases at present.

The recovery count increased by four to touch 11,38,297, leaving the state with 32 active cases, the official said.

With 3,738 swab samples examined during the day, the tally of tests carried out so far in Chhattisgarh went up to 1,77,05,493, he added.

Chhattisgarh"s coronavirus figures are as follows: Positive cases 11,52,363, new cases 8, death toll 14,034, recoveries 11,38,297, active cases 32, total tests 1,77,05,493.
