Amrut mission: Chhattisgarh ranks 4th in achieving target, bags award

RAIPUR: For consecutively second year in a row, Chhattisgarh has bagged National Award for achieving target under Mission Amrut In a programme organized at science building in New Delhi, Union minister of urban development M Venkaiah Naidu awarded an incentive of Rs 25 crore to Chhattisgarh government on this achievement.This amount has been awarded in addition to the sanction by the Government of India for implementation of the projects.Last year, Chhattisgarh was awarded Rs 13 crore as an incentive.It is noteworthy that under Mission Amrut, nine urban development bodies namely Raipur, Bilaspur, Durg, Bhilai, Rajnandgaon, Ambikapur, Jagdalpur, Raipur and Korba have been included.Under Mission Amrut, basic facilities such as water supply, sewerage management and also garden and green spots are developed in these urban bodies.Chhattisgarh has secured 91.37% marks in the target achievement under Mission Amrut.Apart from the projects in nine cities included under the mission, Government of India has also set targets for reforms every year..
