Three Naxals held in Chhattisgarh

RAIPUR: Three Naxals, one of them carrying cash reward on his head, were today arrested from two places in Chhattisgarh's Bastar division, police said.While two lower rung ultras were apprehended from Ekda police station area in Narayanpur district, another was held from Basaguda police station limits in Bijapur district, a senior police official told PTI.A joint team of Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) and District Force (DF) was out on an anti-Maoist operation in Ekda area when it nabbed Somaru Kavde (25) and Gangaram Salaam (39) from Uchhakota village, around 350 kms from here, he said.Kavde was allegedly involved in looting and setting ablaze a vehicle belonging to Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited in 2008, the officer said adding he was carrying a reward of Rs 3,000 on his head.Similarly, Gangaram was allegedly involved in the murder of a villager and vandalising a school hostel in Edka village in 2006, he added.In a separate incident, Podiyam Mara (32) was nabbed from Pakela village of Basaguda by a team of CoBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action) and DF, he said..
