Four tourism circuits to attract visitors in East Godavari

RAJAHMUNDRY: The East Godavari district has been divided into four tourism circuits covering nature and flora-fauna to attract more visitors.According to District Collector H Arun Kumar these circuits were made to facilitate the tourists to visit the places of their interest and to promote tourism.The first circuit covers Konaseema brackish waters covering Dindi and Bodasakurru. Provision of water sports at Pameleru and laying road to Mothugudem water falls were also suggested. Necessary instructions were already issued to local authorities to identify the tourist places in Konaseema, he said.Kumar said the second circuit Akhanda Godavari covers extension of Kotilingala ghat up to Phushkar ghat at Rajahmahendravaram, development of Pitchukulanka near Dowleswaram, and cruise route from Dowleswaram to Kadiyam .Accordingly the old railway Havelok bridge would also be developed as tourism centre, he added .The third circuit of Kakinada beach and mangroves covers beaches and water sports at Kakinada, hope island and Korangi, the Collector added .The fourth eco-adventurous tourism circuit covers natural scenic places and water places in forest locations at Rampachodavarm, Devipatnam and Maredumilli areas, he added .The Collector has directed tourism officials to introduce mechanised boats in Bhupathipalem reservoir in the agency duly involving local tribals and to develop Kalluu, Sirivaka and Gandi Pochamma areas as tourist places from where the Godavari cruise to Papikondalu operates.He also directed them to introduce boats in Koringa wildlife sanctuary with the support of local fisherman and take up greenery at Hope island, selecting the suitable plants..
