Two injured in clash over land dispute in Kadi

Palanpur: Two persons were injured following a clash over an old land dispute at Choksi Bazaar near Kasba locality of Kadi in Mehsana district on Tuesday.While one person was injured in firing from an air gun, the other suffered injuries after he was attacked with swords.Though the police did not name the injured, it said that the one who suffered air gun injury was in critical condition and was shifted to V S Hospital in Ahmedabad.According to police sources, the incidence took place around noon when two groups having arguments over land dispute attacked each other with sharp weapons. One group also ransacked a shop.According to deputy superintendent of police Manjita Vanzara, two groups of Ghanchi community and supporters of history-sheeter Hanif Kadar, currently lodged Vadodara jail, have been at loggerheads over a piece of land.She said that it began with arguments and escalated into a clash where the two groups attacked each other with sticks and sharp weapons.Hanif Kadar is the one who on March 15 this year had allegedly assaulted a police party in which Vanzara suffered a fracture in her hand..
