Pregnant woman set ablaze for delay in cooking food

Rajkot: A two-month pregnant woman from a village in Vinchhiya taluka succumbed to her burns after being set ablaze by her husband and mother-in-law over a trivial issue of delay in cooking on Monday.Lata Gorasa, 22, who had suffered over 70% burns, died in the Rajkot Civil Hospital. This angered Jamna and Govind and they entered into a heated altercation with her. Jamna then grabbed Lata from behind and poured kerosene on her while Govind set her ablaze,” said Vinchhiya police station sub-inspector D L Khachar.After the crime, Govind rushed Lata first to a private hospital in Jasdan, then to Botad Civil Hospital from where Lata was referred to Rajkot Civil Hospital.
