Summary:

Rajkot: With every passing day , the troubles for farmers waiting to sell their groundnut crop at the minimum support price (MSP) at different market yards keep on multiplying. They take 100 gram groundnut and peel it and if it contains nuts weighing 65 gram, the sample is accepted. This also leads to altercation between farmers and the officers.”The farmers further alleged that from this year the government has adopted a new method to check moisture level in nuts. On Saturday, the farmers complained of lack of planning on part of the government officials assigned for the job to procure the nuts from them. The farmers alleged that there were not enough jute bags and stickers for the bags and the entire process was taking too much time. The officers go strictly by the books because they have no experience in procurement..
