Two arrested with IMFL worth Rs 31L

Rajkot: A total of 30 ,924 small bottles (250ml) of Indian made foreign liquor (IMFL), worth Rs 31 lakh , were seized and two drivers of the truck and the SUV carrying the bottles arrested.The seizure and arrests were effected in two different raids conducted in Radhanpur of Patan district and Bajana village of Dasada taluka in Surendranagar district.In the first raid, a total of 28,560 small bottles of IMFL were seized from a truck and its driver, identified as Bhajanram Bishnoi, a resident of Sanghadava in Rajasthan, arrested in in Radhanpur.“During his interrogation, Bishnoi said that the liquor supply had been uploaded in Rajasthan and it was meant to be delivered in Gandhidham of Kutch district. After reaching Gandhidham, Bishnoi was supposed to make a call to his handlers in Rajasthan to find out the address of the recipient,” said G M Hadia, sub-inspector of Bhuj rapid response cell.The second raid was reported from Bajana village, where a total of 2,364 bottles of which 60 were large bottles, worth Rs 2.48 lakh, were seized from an SUV and its driver, identified as Omprakash Bishnoi, a resident of Sanchor of Jhalod in Rajasthan, arrested.“Omprakash had uploaded the bottles on to his SUV from Sanchor and was headed for Surendranagar from where he was supposed to make a call to his handlers in Sanchor to know about the recipient,” said V B Kalotara, sub-inspector of Bajana police station..
